Job description

Job Overview:
The Infection Preventionist is responsible for executing the hospital infection surveillance, prevention, and control activities and practices by conducting activities and actions known to be effective in reducing infections. This includes making recommendations, conducting surveillance, and maintaining hospital-wide infection surveillance, prevention, and control policies. Infection Preventionist will confer with organizational stakeholders and local health departments to implement infection reduction strategies and best practices.
Required: Certifications/Licenses/Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in healthcare or related degree required.
  • Minimum of five years' relevant experience of experience in Infection control or closely related field required.
Preferred Certification/License/Experience:
  • Certification from APIC
  • Certification from CIC
  • Membership in APIC
  • Membership in SHEA
