Job description

Weekend Material Handler / Stager

Help Keep Our Shop Moving - Even on the Weekends

As a Weekend Material Handler / Stager at Klute, you'll play a key role in keeping our steel fabrication operations running smoothly. Your work behind the scenes ensures our welders and machine operators have the right materials, in the right place, at the right time.

Working weekends, you'll help stage parts, move and organize steel, and support production flow in a fast-paced shop environment. If you enjoy hands-on work, take pride in staying organized, and understand that good preparation makes great production possible - this role is for you.

What You'll Do:

  • Stage steel parts for welders using project blueprints

  • Move, sort, and organize materials throughout the shop

  • Stack and store steel plate safely and efficiently

  • Chamfer, countersink, and clean holes using a drill press and hand tools

  • Operate forklifts and overhead cranes to move material

  • Communicate with welders, machine operators, and production leadership

  • Support inventory organization and material priorities

What We're Looking For:

  • Safety-focused, reliable, and detail-oriented team member

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in an industrial environment

  • Comfortable operating forklifts and shop equipment (or willing to learn)

  • Ability to work efficiently around moving equipment and pedestrians

Why Klute:

  • Weekend-only schedule

  • Hands-on role that directly supports production

  • Opportunity to gain experience in steel fabrication

  • Team environment that values pride in workmanship and doing things right

Hours for this role are Friday, Saturday and Sunday 6 AM - 6:30 PM. After working 36 hours, we include 4 additional hours to guarantee 40 hours / week. Shift also includes a shift differential.

If you take pride in preparation, organization, and keeping operations running strong, we'd love to have you join the Klute team!

Equal opportunity employer as to all protected groups, including protected veterans and individuals with disabilities.
