Weekend Hospice Registered Nurse (RN)

At Morning Star Hospice and Palliative Care Solutions, we are dedicated to providing compassionate and personalized end-of-life care to patients and their families. As a leader in hospice care, we focus on enhancing quality of life by offering physical, emotional, and spiritual support. We are currently seeking a skilled and compassionate Weekend Hospice Registered Nurse (RN) in the Harrisburg, Lancaster, and York, PA areas.

As a Weekend Hospice Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the care of patients in their homes, skilled nursing facilities, or assisted living environments from Friday 5pm to Monday at 7am. You will take call during these hours and perform patient visits (including admissions). You will work closely with an interdisciplinary team to assess patient needs, develop care plans, and provide direct nursing care to ensure the comfort and dignity of patients at the end of life. This position requires a nurse with clinical expertise, compassion, and a commitment to providing high-quality hospice care.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Taking call from Friday 5pm to Monday at 7am
  • Providing skilled nursing care including medication management, pain control, symptom management, and emotional support.
  • Acting as a liaison between patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team to ensure coordinated care.
  • Educating patients and families on disease processes, medications, and end-of-life care options.
  • Monitoring patient progress and adjusting care plans as needed to ensure comfort and dignity.
  • Documenting patient care and progress in compliance with hospice regulations and company policies.
  • Participating in regular team meetings to discuss patient status and plan of care.

Qualifications include:

  • Current and unrestricted RN license in Pennsylvania
  • At least 1 year of hospice or palliative care experience preferred
