Job description

At Desert Parkway Behavioral Healthcare Hospital, we are committed to delivering the best in psychiatric healthcare to our community through our mental health programs. This includes helping to educate patients, family members, and the community at large about mental health illnesses and addiction.

With our mental health programs, we strive to provide a safe and accepting environment for all of our patients. Our private facility currently has 152 patient beds and is staffed by qualified, experienced personnel who are dedicated to providing the highest level of care to each patient.

The Mobile Assessor is responsible for evaluating patients, conduct crisis screenings and coordinate emergency mental health placements needed for prospective patients to ensure referral to the service or resource that best addresses the patient’s needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct mental health assessments in the field.
  • Determine the correct level of care.
  • Coordinate safe hospital admissions and crisis care.
  • Consults with Intake department, CNO, and CEO about the acceptability of admissions.
  • Represents and distributes information about Desert Parkway Behavioral Healthcare Hospital services to community healthcare entities in a positive educational manner.
  • Current on referral sources and interacts effectively with patients, peers and other staff on appropriate patient treatment options.
  • Understands and communicates the disease pathology associated with behavioral conditions and their models of treatment.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with physicians, nursing staff and health professional affiliates in community areas assigned.
  • Demonstrates strong skills in assessing client's crisis and clinical indicators.
  • Maintains knowledge of legal guidelines pertaining to EMTALA/COBRA and abuse/neglect reporting.
  • Schedule includes evening and weekend hours

Requirements

  • Licensed in the State of Nevada as a Registered Nurse required
  • Previous Mobile Assessment experience preferred
  • Clean driving record and valid driver's license required
  • Valid Car Insurance required
  • Experience in crisis intervention and psychiatric triage
