Job Description

A Day in the Life 

Under general supervision, according to hospital standards and regulatory agency requirements, performs duties associated with numerous maintenance activities including construction, (routine carpentry, plastering, painting etc.) electrical, maintenance, plumbing and mechanical work. Position requires certification as a Healthcare Mechanic or Senior Healthcare Mechanic as outlined below.

Qualifications

What’s Required  

High school diploma or GED

Valid Michigan driver’s license

Proven mechanical work experience or vocational course (i.e., drafting, machine shop, auto repair, construction, electrical/electronic).

MECH Senior Certification successful completion required within four years.

Physical requirements: must be able to list medium loads (25-50 pounds), climb, stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl occasionally (0-33% of the workday); and must be able to walk and handle materials frequently (34-66% of the workday)
