As Assistant Store Manager, you are the right-hand to the Store Manager! You'll become well trained to cover all aspects of store operations, achieve key performance and financial objectives, as well as directional and performance planning. Be part of it!
Overall, we are looking for someone who takes pride in being a great merchant, a passionate leader, and committed to making sure every customer experience is better than the last!
Here are some ways you will make an impact:
  • Assists with the management of all aspects of Store operations including customer service, store condition and the selection, training, supervising, and performance management of Store Sales Associates
  • Assists in unloading all merchandise from delivery trucks, organizes merchandise, and transfers merchandise from stockroom to store
  • Collaborates with team members to ensure the store meets or exceeds the established merchandising standards for product quality, presentation and visual marketing/merchandising
  • Keep up with reporting to support sales, earnings, and minimizing shrink
  • Assumes full management responsibility in the absence of the Store Manager

If this sounds like you, make sure you also meet these requirements:
  • Two (2) or more years of grocery or retail management experience
    • Hands-on leadership experiencein grocery retail (e.g. Produce, Deli/Bakery, or Meat/Seafood departments) is highly preferred but not required.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs with frequent lifting above shoulder height
  • Schedule Availability: Ability to work flexible, full-time schedule to include days, evenings, weekends and holidays
  • You must be 18 years of age or older
  • High School Diploma / Equivalent
  • Successfully pass our pre-employment checks, including a drug screen and criminal background check
  • Valid driver's license and safe driving record per GFS policy
