Job description

Schedule Requirements: Must be available to work a flexible schedule during the week, including weekends and holidays.
Role
A Golf Course Mechanic (or Equipment Technician) is responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing a fleet of specialized equipment.
This includes reel and rotary mowers, tractors, utility vehicles, and golf carts. They ensure machinery is safe, sharp, and operational for daily turf management.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited too:
• Preventative Maintenance: Develop and execute a strict preventative maintenance schedule (oil changes, lubrication, and filter replacements) to minimize equipment downtime.
• Diagnostics & Repair: Inspect and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on both gasoline and diesel engines.
• Reel Grinding & Mower Setup: Sharpen mower blades, perform reel grinding, and adjust cutting units to precise heights according to the Golf Superintendent's exact standards.
• Parts & Inventory Management: Oversee the shop parts inventory, track repair costs, and maintain accurate service records using specialized computer systems.
• Welding & Fabrication: Perform light welding, metal fabrication, and equipment modifications as needed.
• Safety & Compliance: Maintain a clean, organized shop and ensure all repairs meet OSHA and environmental safety regulations.
