As one of the world's largest conservation organizations, the Arbor Day Foundation inspires people to plant, nurture, and celebrate trees. Through Arbor Day Farm, Lied Lodge, Tree Adventure, and our historic properties, we bring that mission to life - welcoming guests to experience conservation firsthand.
Join Arbor Day Farm as a Retail Attendant and help create meaningful guest experiences while advancing the Foundation's mission right here in Nebraska City.
Your Support System:
You'll report to our Apple House Market Manager.
You'll collaborate with leaders and team members across the property, including Porters' and Tree Adventure.
We believe in servant leadership, open communication, and growing talent from within.
How We Work:
Location: Nebraska City, Nebraska - Arbor Day Farm Campus
Schedule: Weekday and Weekend Availability
Our campus is guest-centered and hospitality-driven. Many roles require flexibility to support weddings, conferences, seasonal festivals, and signature events. We work hard, support each other, and believe if we're going to do something - it's worth doing well.
What You'll Do:
  • Be a team player. Responsibilities include overseeing daily operations of the gift shop, greeting guests, stocking shelves, rearranging products to attract attention, following safety and sanitation procedures, light cleaning, and assisting wherever needed!
  • Spend your days in our Apple House or Tree Adventure. You will be a part of a cross-trained team providing excellent guest service, whether finding an item or showing them what all our farm has to offer.
  • Professional appearance. Always appear at work looking professional and well-groomed.
  • Earn valuable work experience. You will gain valuable work experience that sets you up for other opportunities on our property.

What You'll Bring:
  • Passion for hospitality, service, and the Foundation's mission
  • Team-first mindset
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to high standards - because good enough is not good enough

What Success Looks Like:
  • Guests feel welcomed, valued, and cared for
  • Operations run safely and efficiently
  • Team members feel supported and empowered
  • Great Communication
  • You contribute to a culture rooted in kindness, collaboration, and excellence

Love Where You Work: Benefits & Perks:
  • We're in this together. A culture focused on kindness, collaboration, and doing what's right.
  • We invest in your future. Company-paid short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, and 401(k) with company match.
  • We care about your mental health. Access to an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for you and your family.
  • We will feed you. One complimentary meal per day.
  • We'll round out the experience. Property-wide events and experiences throughout the year.
  • Exclusive perks. Free access to Tree Adventure, discounts on overnight stays, retail, and dining at Timbers and Porters, golf, and more.
