We currently have an opening for a Maintenance Technician in our Chicago Metallic company located in Humboldt, TN.
Position Summary:
To maintain plant equipment and physical facility so production can run efficiently and safely within parameters established by local, state and federal laws. Ensure spare parts are kept and inventoried so downtime is minimal. Develop and implement changes in equipment and processes (in coordination with Plant Manager) to improve productivity and quality and to decrease costs. Reports to Maintenance Supervisor.
Maintenance Duties Include:
  • Performs non-repetitive electrical, electronic, hydraulic, mechanical and pneumatic maintenance functions to maintain all plant equipment in the proper operating condition.
  • Works from maintenance schedules assigned by the maintenance supervisor/team leader.
  • Preforms various welding operations whenever necessary.
  • Repair solid state electronic control systems.
  • Performs scheduled preventive maintenance operations to help prevent excessive down time.
  • Trouble shoots machinery and equipment problems relating to mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic problems.
  • Repairs all plant support equipment such as hoists, automatic sweeper, forklifts, etc.
  • Maintains hand tools and other related equipment which is used to make necessary repairs.
  • Preforms equipment modification changes directed by the maintenance supervisor/team leader.
  • Repairs and maintains the utility system within the facility.
  • Installs new equipment when necessary. Assists in the installation of equipment which is to be relocated within the plant.
  • Operates forklift whenever necessary.
  • Detects and reports faulty operation of equipment, defective materials, and unusual conditions to assigned supervisor.
  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Observe prescribed safety regulations and other standards of operation and conduct.
  • Perform other related duties as directed by assigned supervisor/team leader.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
  • Associate's degree in industrial maintenance with 3 years' experience. PLC experience is highly preferred.
  • Proactive with a sense of urgency.
  • Be a self-starter that can work with little supervision
  • Have basic knowledge of electrical, electronics, hydraulics and pneumatics maintenance and repair.
