Job description

Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a full-time Internal Medicine Physician to join its practice at the Institute for Advanced Medicine (IAM) in Queens. This role focuses on providing comprehensive primary and preventive care to LGBTQ patients, with a strong emphasis on HIV prevention and care, including PrEP/PEP management and gender-affirming hormone therapy. The physician will collaborate within an interdisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient care and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide acute/urgent care for emergent/acute illnesses and injuries, including ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests
  • Provide medical services to clinic patients, ensuring quality medical care
  • See patients in a timely and efficient manner, adhering to scheduled appointments
  • Diagnose and provide medical treatment, formulating treatment plans
  • Manage short and long-term conditions
  • Perform complete and focused physical exams
  • Provide counseling and education to patients and family members regarding health maintenance, disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up
  • Maintain and submit timely and appropriate medical records and billing codes, with charting completed on the same day as the patient's visit

Compensation

  • Compensation range from $225,000 to $246,000 (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits)
  • The salary range listed is for full-time employment

Requirements

  • Prior experience in HIV primary care highly encouraged
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and workflow management skills
  • Good computer skills with experience with electronic health records and presentation software
  • Willingness to problem-solve and get the job done
  • Desire to be an integral part of a rapidly growing team dedicated to changing health care delivery
  • Physicians must be flexible, adapt to change, and serve as a role model for staff
