Job description

Kendal at Oberlin is a full-service life plan community, which primarily serves older adults in the Quaker tradition. Residents are assured a lifetime of healthcare including short- and long-term nursing services, memory care and assisted living. Equally important, residents enjoy an independent, enriching living experience.
Kendal at Oberlin's Administration Department is currently seeking a friendly, organized and detail oriented Front Desk Receptionist to work part-time (12 hrs/week, Friday: 8a-4p & Saturday: 10a-2p). The Receptionist will function as the center of facility communications, operates console to connect incoming calls, welcomes guests and visitors and dispenses information. Additional responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Updating resident telephone list and distributing this information as needed
  • Maintaining reservation calendars for guest and meeting rooms.
  • Notifying supervisor or other designated staff of observations including potential health or safety issues affecting residents.
  • Operating postage meter and preparing mail and packages for delivering by USPS, Fed Ex and UPS.
  • Providing support to Facility Services' Transportation Services
  • Showing sensitivity and helpfulness in responding to the needs of residents, prospective residents, and staff.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Experience with computer software (Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and familiarity with Point of Sale a plus), hardware, and other specialized equipment to support all departments with clerical and office duties as needed.
  • Must have exceptional communication skills.
  • Must be comfortable working around animals as we are pet friendly.
  • Must enjoy working with older people and always present a neat, professional appearance
  • Must be flexible and work particularly well with public, residents, and staff.
  • Must be able to sit/stand for extended periods of time.
