Job description

Marketing & Partnerships Manager La Vaquita Flea Market | Jefferson, GA | Full-Time | On-Site

About La Vaquita

La Vaquita Flea Market is one of the largest weekend marketplaces in the Southeast: a Hispanic indoor and outdoor market with roughly 880 indoor booths, 220 outdoor tables, and approximately 36,500 shoppers every weekend at over 99% occupancy. Our mission is empowering community through culture and commerce. We run lean, we move fast, and we operate on EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) with clear ownership and a simple scorecard.

The Opportunity

We're creating a new seat at the commercial center of the business. The Marketing & Partnerships Manager will own two things that matter most to our growth: turning our massive weekly audience into sponsorship and advertising revenue, and keeping shoppers coming back through events, marketing, and brand presence.

You'll sell partnerships, build and direct our events calendar, manage marketing contractors and AI tools, and report on results every week. You'll work directly with the CEO.

What You'll Own

1. Sponsorship & Partnerships Revenue (Commissioned) Package, price, pitch, and close sponsorships, on-site media placements, and brand activations with local and regional advertisers. You build this revenue line from the ground up and earn uncapped commission on every dollar you close. You'll manage renewals, grow the book, and develop a pipeline we can track and forecast.

2. Events & Community Presence Own the annual events calendar, signature market weekends, seasonal promotions, and community activations. You develop the strategy and partnerships; our Operations team handles execution on the ground. You're accountable for results: attendance lift, community engagement, and earned media.

3. Marketing Direction Direct contractors and AI tools across social media, content, website updates, and paid media. You set standards, review work, give direction, and hold the output to a measurable bar. This is not a content creation role. Production is contracted out, and your job is to lead it.

4. Brand & Reputation Own how La Vaquita shows up in public: online reviews, ratings, local media coverage, and community relationships. You're the market's commercial voice and you protect and grow our brand equity.

5. Weekly Scorecard Ownership Track and report on foot traffic trends, campaign performance, sponsorship pipeline, and review ratings. You own the numbers and the narrative: what's working, what's not, and what you're doing about it.

What This Role Is Not

  • Not a content creator or social media manager (production is contracted)
  • Not a leasing or pricing role (booth operations and rate strategy sit elsewhere)
  • Not remote. Weekend presence on market days is an essential function.

Who You Are

  • A seller. You've personally closed sponsorship, advertising, or partnership deals. You can walk us through the book and talk us through the process.
  • An organizer. You've owned an events calendar or activation schedule and hit your dates.
  • A director of other people's work. You've managed agencies, freelancers, or contractors to a standard, and you're comfortable using AI tools to multiply your output.
  • Bilingual preferred. Spanish and English fluency is strongly preferred and required for candidates whose background doesn't otherwise demonstrate deep credibility with Hispanic audiences and advertisers.
  • Local. Based in or within commutable distance of Jefferson, GA.

Likely Backgrounds

Local radio, TV, or outdoor advertising sales. Sports or venue sponsorship. Festival, fair, or events partnership management. Shopping center or mall marketing. Chamber of commerce or tourism roles. If you've sold a local audience to local brands and run the calendar that audience shows up for, you'll recognize this job.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $80,000 - $100,000
  • Commission: Uncapped, on new sponsorship and media sales
  • Performance Bonus: Tied to a simple commercial scorecard
  • Strong First Year, All-In: $110,000 - $140,000
  • Benefits: Health insurance with half of premiums company-paid, PTO, paid holidays, sick leave, and a 401(k)
  • A written commission plan is provided before any offer is extended

Our Core Values

Go Above & Beyond | Be Proactive | Take Ownership | Detail Oriented

We hire against these, and we evaluate against them.

Where This Goes

This role is built to grow. As the revenue you build proves out, the seat expands into a director-level commercial role. We'd rather promote the person who built the line than hire over them.
