Job description

Staff Accountant Starting Pay range: $55,000 - $65,000 Location: Elkhart, IN 46514Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our finance team in Elkhart, IN. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, proficiency in accounting systems and Excel, and a commitment to accuracy, organization, teamwork, and Himes Holdings’ B-RICH core values.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and post Journal Entries (JE’s)
  • Perform bank and account reconciliations
  • Record Payroll entries
  • Manage AP/AR processes
  • Support month-end and year-end close
  • Maintain inventory records
  • Track fixed assets and depreciation
  • Organize and maintain financial records
  • Assist with process improvements
  • Support cross-functional teams
  • Identify and complete tasks during downtime
  • Ensure audit-ready documentation
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance preferred
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 1-3 years of accounting experience
  • Experience in a manufacturing or construction environment preferred
  • Excel proficiency (pivot tables, etc.)
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Business Central / Dynamics preferred
