Now Hiring: Armed Flex Protection Officer - Corporate Headquarters Campus in Benton Harbor MIStarting at $32 / hour Elite Assignment   Career Growth

Allied Universal is seeking highly qualified security professional to serve as an Armed Security Flex Protection Officer at our client's Global Headquarters (GHQ) campus in St. Joseph, Michigan.  This is a high-visibility, customer-facing assignment requiring exceptional professionalism, strong communication skills, and sound judgment. The Armed Security Flex Officer may be called upon to work irregular shifts at times with little to no advance notice.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide armed security and emergency response across a large corporate campus
  • Operate a vehicle as part of a mobile patrol and area surveillance team
  • Support local executive protection and event security operations
  • Provide local secure transportation for executives
  • Serve as a first responder for security incidents and medical emergencies
  • Interact with local law enforcement officers
  • Deliver high-level customer service to employees, executives, and visitors
  • Identify and report safety or security concerns
  • Perform patrols, respond to incidents, and manage access control
  • Monitor safety and security equipment/systems (CCTV, Access Control, etc.)
  • Work within a coordinated, well-structured protection program

QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):

  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
  • Exceptional decision-making skills: ability to effectively operate under pressure.
  • Discretion and integrity; trusted to handle sensitive information.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screening (as permitted by law)
  • Must be willing and able to obtain a valid Michigan Concealed Carry Permit (CCW) upon hire or currently possess one
  • Must possess one or more of the following:
    • Service in Military Occupational Specialty related to law enforcement, security (such as Military Police, Elite Military Forces, combat arms) or any support role in a Combat Zone
    • Graduate of a Certified Public Safety Academy (military or civilian) or verified work experience in the law enforcement, adult corrections, or firefighter field
    • Bachelor's degree in law enforcement or criminal justice related studies
    • A minimum of 8 or more years of service in any military branch
    • Associate's degree (or 60 credits) or higher in law enforcement or criminal justice with current or prior active military service
    • Professional appearance and demeanor; physically fit

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):

  • Degree in an area of study relevant to this position
  • Certification or training in security management, firearms, executive protection, etc.

  • RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle
  • Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards
  • Sound alarms or calls police or fire department in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons
  • Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles
  • Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitors entrances and exits
  • Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensures that authorized removal of property is conducted within appropriate client requirements
  • Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain written logs as required by the post
  • Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
  • Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders
  • Make productivity and cost reduction recommendations to management
  • Make recommendations for physical security surveys and post orders

QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must possess one or more of the following
    • Service in Military Occupational Specialty related to law enforcement, security (such as Military Police, Elite Military Forces, combat arms) or any support role in a Combat Zone
    • Graduate of a Certified Public Safety Academy (military or civilian) or verified work experience in the law enforcement, adult corrections, or firefighter field
    • Bachelor's degree in law enforcement or criminal justice related studies
    • A minimum of 8 or more years of service in any military branch
    • Associate's degree (or 60 credits) or higher in law enforcement or criminal justice with current or prior active military service
  • Be at least 18 years of age, or higher if required by the state (21 years, if armed)
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.*A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only
  • Be able to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
