Safety Coordinator III | Louisville, Kentucky, United States Job Summary: Construction Safety Coordinator III (Power Plant)
Location: Louisville, KY 40272 | Contract | 50 hrs/week (Potential nights/weekends)
About the Role
Join a dynamic, safety-first team as a Construction Safety Coordinator III at a leading power plant construction site. This field-focused role puts you at the heart of daily operations, ensuring the well-being of all personnel and contractors. You will be an on-the-ground leader, promoting safety culture, identifying hazards, and driving compliance. Responsibilities
  • Monitor and enforce safety practices among contractors working on-site.
  • Conduct regular field safety inspections and audits for OSHA and company compliance; immediately recommend corrective actions when necessary.
  • Support the development and execution of site-specific safety plans (emergency evacuation, fire, rescue, medical).
  • Attend and contribute to project meetings regarding safety planning, progress, and incident discussions.
  • Serve as a field resource for safety-related inquiries and guidance.
  • Assist in accident investigations, identify root causes, and recommend process improvements.
  • Partner with the on-site safety lead to ensure accurate safety documentation and reporting.
  • Coordinate compliance with key safety policies (LOTO, hot work, confined space).
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to maintain a safe work environment.

Required Skills and Experience
  • OSHA 30 certification (mandatory)
  • 1-2 years of construction safety experience (industrial or power plant setting preferred) or craft foreman experience in industrial construction
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA standards and relevant safety regulations
  • Effective communicator; able to provide clear, actionable feedback
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Proficient with basic software (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule (potential nights/weekends)
  • Ability to drive on-site as needed
