Job description

We are looking for an Entry Level Accountant to join a transport-focused organization in Georgetown, Kentucky. This position supports core accounting operations by helping maintain accurate records, preparing financial data, and contributing to month-end activities. The ideal candidate brings a solid foundation in accounting principles, strong Excel capabilities, and the ability to communicate financial information clearly.
Responsibilities:
• Support month-end close activities by preparing journal entries and assisting with timely completion of accounting tasks.
• Perform bank account reviews and reconcile general ledger balances to ensure financial records are accurate.
• Analyze fluctuations in financial results, identify key drivers, and summarize findings for stakeholders.
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including specialized invoice handling and revenue-related calculations.
• Help prepare and review financial statement information to promote accuracy and completeness in reporting.
• Maintain organized, detailed documentation of accounting work, reconciliations, and supporting records.
• Communicate accounting results, issues, and updates clearly to team members and business partners.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.

• At least 1 year of accounting experience is expected; 2 years is preferred but not mandatory.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including strong spreadsheet creation and analysis skills.

• Familiarity with journal entries, bank reconciliations, and general ledger account reconciliation.

• Working knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
