Title: Event Manager
Reports to: Director of Event Management
Status: Full-Time or Part-time, Temporary
Duration: 6 months, September 2026 - March 2027
Location: Spokane, WA

Guided by our core values of People-First, Innovation, Authenticity, Integrity, and Community Impact, we deliver exceptional experiences for athletes, fans, and partners alike.
We are looking to hire a Temporary Event Manager to join our Event Management team in support of the Cross Country and Indoor Track & Field seasons. This role will support the planning, logistics and delivery of Spokane Sports events to ensure events run smoothly, partners are supported, and participants have a world-class experience.
Seasonal Focus
  • Cross Country: September 2026 - November 2026
  • Indoor Track & Field: December 2026 - March 2027

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Act as the personnel coordinator for cross country and indoor track & field events, including support for event staffing needs.
  • Coordinate pre-season event logistics. This includes volunteer recruitment efforts, transportation planning, official documentation and records management, medical logistics scheduling, and maintaining accurate official assignment records.
  • Coordinate volunteer groups to ensure adequate event staffing throughout the cross country and indoor track & field season.
  • During event weeks, serve as the primary point of contact for event personnel by communicating final schedules, meet information, arrival times, parking instructions, and other logistical details.
  • Coordinate volunteer assignments and ensure officials are entered into event check-in and payment systems prior to each event.
  • Following each event, submit invoices for processing, payment requests and send thank you follow ups.
  • Assist the Director of Event Management with scheduling and further operational plans.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, capable of successfully managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced event environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and accurately with event partners and staff.
  • Proactive and solutions-oriented, anticipating operational needs and identifying potential issues before they arise.
  • Technical understanding of event operations, logistics, and participant experience.
  • Commitment to teams' mission and values with a collaborative, solutions-focused mindset.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Sport Management, Event Management, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2-5 years of experience in event delivery, management, or operations.
  • Experience working with volunteers, contractors, and sport governing bodies preferred.
  • Track & field or cross country experience is a nice to have.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
  • Standard office environment with time spent onsite at events.
  • Frequent evening and weekend work required during event seasons.
  • Ability to travel locally to support event delivery.
