Job description

Registered Nurse - PACU
Manassas, VA
Pay from: $42 per hour
MUST:
Registered Nurse (Registered Nurse) with valid Virginia license
1+year of recent PACU experience
Ambulatory experience preferred and comfortable working in high volume setting
Experience updating patients charts using EMR
Strong attention to detail and proactive
Starting IV's and removing IVs
Providing patient education
Discussing post-op instructions
ACLS certified/PALS
DUTIES:
Duties include but will not be limited to the following:
Ensure that the proper supplies and equipment are available in the PACU
Ensure that equipment is functioning properly
Assist with inventory control
Appropriately document patient care provided
Perform nursing assessment of patient and review medications administered
Receive patient in the recovery room after surgery
Monitor, assess and evaluate the patient during the recovery phase
Document the status of the patient and the care provided
Provide Post -Op instructions to the patient
Document charges for all supplies used during the pre-op and recovery phase
Perform follow up patient assessment by calling the patient the day after surgery
