Job Description:
Assistant Operator
Location: Plymouth, IN
Schedule: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM | 12-Hour Rotating Shifts | Includes Rotating Weekends
What You'll Do
  • Assist the Operator in setting up and running production lines to meet quality and efficiency standards.
  • Help assist the Operator during die changes.
  • Operate forklifts and other powered industrial vehicles to stage materials and supplies.
  • Perform quality checks including length/width, vacuum tests, and micrometer readings.
  • Help minimize scrap and maximize material recovery.
  • Support minor maintenance tasks and housekeeping duties.
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures and PPE requirements.
  • Collaborate with team members across shifts for smooth transitions.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and support the Maintenance Team when needed.

What You Bring
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience required.
  • Prior manufacturing or warehouse experience preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and basic math skills.
  • Ability to read a tape measure and document quality data.
  • Forklift and industrial vehicle operation experience.
  • Safety-conscious mindset and ability to follow standardized work instructions.
  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is a plus.

Work Environment
  • Indoor manufacturing facility (non-airconditioned)
  • Heat may exceed 90°F, humidity over 80%, and noise levels above 85 dB
  • Exposure to moving equipment and machinery

Physical Requirements
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting (up to 50 lbs)
  • Repetitive use of hands, wrists, shoulders, knees, and other joints
  • Occasional stair and ladder climbing
