Housekeeping Manager – Public Areas

Position Summary

One Source Housekeeping Solutions is seeking an experienced Housekeeping Manager – Public Areas to oversee public area housekeeping operations at a hospitality property in the South Phoenix area.

This position is responsible for maintaining exceptional cleanliness and presentation throughout all assigned public spaces while leading and developing the housekeeping team. The ideal candidate is a hands-on hospitality leader with strong operational, organizational, and people-management skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily housekeeping operations for all assigned public areas.

  • Ensure lobbies, corridors, restrooms, entrances, elevators, recreational areas, and other guest-facing spaces consistently meet established cleanliness and presentation standards.

  • Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and public area housekeeping employees.

  • Conduct routine inspections and follow up immediately on quality concerns.

  • Create and manage staffing schedules based on occupancy, business volume, and operational needs.

  • Monitor attendance, productivity, labor utilization, and staffing levels.

  • Ensure employees receive proper training on cleaning procedures, equipment, chemicals, safety, and service expectations.

  • Coordinate deep-cleaning projects, special cleaning assignments, and preventative maintenance needs.

  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels of cleaning supplies, equipment, and operating materials.

  • Partner with property leadership and other departments to address guest and operational needs.

  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest concerns and service requests.

  • Enforce company policies, safety procedures, and client standards.

  • Maintain required operational and employee documentation.

  • Support hiring, onboarding, performance management, and employee retention initiatives.

  • Ensure consistent compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

Qualifications
  • Previous housekeeping management experience within a hotel, resort, hospitality, or similarly high-volume environment required.

  • Public area housekeeping experience strongly preferred.

  • Proven ability to lead and develop frontline housekeeping teams.

  • Strong knowledge of housekeeping procedures, cleaning chemicals, equipment, and safety practices.

  • Experience managing staffing, scheduling, productivity, and labor costs.

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

  • Strong communication and leadership skills.

  • Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays, based on operational needs.
