Job description

PROCESS ENGINEERย

Shape the systems that turn raw metal into precision. This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who sees a problem on the floor andย doesn'tย rest untilย it'sย solved.ย

ย On-Site ยท ATEK Metal Technologiesย ย Full-Time ยท Salaried / Exemptย ย Reports to Engineering Managerย

THE OPPORTUNITYย

At ATEK Metal Technologies, our process engineersย don'tย justย observeย โ€” they own. As our Process Engineer,ย you'llย be responsible forย developing,ย validating, and continuously improving the foundry processes that drive our quality and efficiency. From new product launches to day-to-day production support, your fingerprints will be on the work that matters most.ย

This role is for someone who leads from the front,ย operatesย with urgency, and takes genuine pride in making things run better than they did yesterday.ย

WHAT YOU'LL DOย

Process Development & Validationย โ€” Design andย validateย operating processes for both new and existing products, ensuring they meet customer requirements, cycle time targets, and quality standards.ย

Continuous Improvementย โ€” Lead and deliver CI projects that reduce scrap, improve efficiency, and strengthen process control across the foundry floor.ย

Problem Resolutionย โ€” Own process-based problem solving in support of daily operations โ€”ย identifyingย root causes, implementing fixes, and preventing recurrence.ย

Documentation & Standardsย โ€” Develop clear, thorough operating instructions that keep processes controlled, repeatable, and audit-ready.ย

Cross-Functional Collaborationย โ€” Partner with design engineering to resolve equipment and tooling issues before theyย impactย production.ย

Operator Trainingย โ€” Educate and coach process operators on proper procedures, building a culture of competence and accountability on the floor.ย

Process Ownershipย โ€” Take full ownership of assigned processes under the Engineering Manager, driving execution and improvement with a sense of urgency.ย

QUALIFICATIONSย

Required:ย

  • 3+ years of foundry experienceย directly relatedย to low pressureย aluminumย castingย and process engineeringย

  • Demonstratedย experience in molding process problem solving in a foundryย environmentย

  • Experience reducing foundry process scrapย

  • Track recordย delivering continuous improvement projectsย

  • Off-shift availability and flexibility to support 2nd or 3rd shift operations and weekends as neededย

Preferred:ย

  • Six Sigmaย methodologyย

  • Foundry automation experienceย

  • Experience in tooling, core make, and post-molding processes (heat treatment, de-core, finishing)ย

Skills That Will Set You Apart:ย

  • Youย don'tย wait to be toldย there'sย a problem โ€” you find it firstย

  • You can earn the trust of operators and engineers alikeย

  • You hold yourself and others to a high standard, consistently and respectfullyย

WORK ENVIRONMENTย

This is a foundry role.ย You'llย spendย significant timeย on the shop floor, where dust, heat, fumes, metal working fluids, and noise are part of the daily environment. Required PPE includes safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toed footwear. Some desk time for documentation and programming tasks as needed.ย

READY TO APPLY?ย

Ifย you'reย a process-driven engineer who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, we want to hear from you.ย
