Electrical Designer About the Role

Enterprise Electrical is seeking an Electrical Designerto support the planning, development, and preparation of electrical system designs, construction drawings, and technical documentation for commercial, industrial, and mission-critical electrical construction projects. This entry-level professional design role applies specialized technical knowledge, electrical design principles, and developing professional judgment to assist in creating accurate, code-compliant, and constructible electrical design solutions that support project execution and operational objectives.

Working under the guidance of senior design, engineering, and project leadership, the Electrical Designer I participates in the design of power distribution systems, lighting systems, grounding systems, raceway layouts, equipment arrangements, and related electrical infrastructure. This position supports project coordination, technical analysis, BIM/VDC collaboration, and design documentation while building independent design capabilities and a deeper understanding of electrical construction practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development and preparation of electrical system designs, drawings, and technical documentation for construction projects.
  • Participate in the design of power distribution, lighting, grounding, and electrical equipment layouts under professional supervision.
  • Prepare and revise electrical drawings, models, and project documentation using approved design standards and technical requirements.
  • Interpret project specifications, customer requirements, and design criteria to support the development of constructible electrical solutions.
  • Apply developing knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements and electrical design principles during drawing preparation and project documentation.
  • Participate in BIM/VDC coordination activities to support project integration and constructability.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and design documents to identify inconsistencies, omissions, and technical conflicts.
  • Assist with coordination efforts and support resolution of design-related issues.
  • Provide technical clarification and interpretation of design information to project teams and field personnel when assigned.

Required Qualifications Education
  • Associate degree or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Design, Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, Construction Technology, or a related technical field preferred.
  • Equivalent combinations of technical education, industry training, and relevant experience may be considered.
Experience
  • 1-3 years of electrical design, BIM, VDC, engineering support, or related electrical construction experience preferred.
  • Experience supporting commercial, industrial, or mission-critical construction projects preferred.
  • Experience utilizing Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, or similar design software platforms preferred.
  • Exposure to electrical system layouts, design documentation, and project coordination activities preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
