Description
The Maintenance Technician performs light construction/repair work throughout the property including light carpentry, plumbing, painting and minor electrical. They will also perform custodial work to ensure units are move-in ready.
  • Carpentry: Remodel and repair work
  • Minor repairs of drywall including patching, texturing and painting drywall repairs.
  • Replace and repair unit plumbing (toilets, faucets, or drains)
  • Light electrical repairs to include replacing outlets and switches, bulbs, and light fixtures, etc.
  • Maintain the exterior building exterior to include light painting, power washing, sweeping, grounds cleaning, light landscaping, repairing or replacement of fixtures, removal of snow and ice where app
  • Replace or light repairs of appliances.
  • Custodial work for units to be ready for move-in.
  • Perform preventative maintenance in units and public areas to ensure all equipment is maintained to the required standard.
  • Adhere to all property safety protocols and OSHA Safety Standards. Utilize safety guards when operating tool or equipment. Follow all Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and required personal protective equipment (PPE) when chemicals.
  • Maintain professionalism with coworkers and residents while working in and around the apartment community.
  • Strict adherence to confidentiality policies according to residents' rights regulations and courtesy.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements
Job Requirements:
  • 2 years of apartment maintenance experience or equivalent.
  • 2 years of direct customer service experience with residential or other clients.
  • Certification or apprenticeship in areas of maintenance (e.g., HVAC, pool, electrical, plumbing, carpentry)
  • Written and verbal communication skills to understand work assignments and communicate effectively with employees and residents.
  • Ability to work after hours and occasionally on weekends.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must tolerate bending, kneeling, standing, stooping, walking and climbing stairs. Occasionally work in confined spaces.
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 50+ pounds.
  • Must be able to operate motorized equipment associated to repair and maintenance work(e.g., drills, sanders, saws, etc.)
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable on the company's policy.
