Heartline Staffing, in partnership with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking an experienced Sheet Rocker / Drywaller for a full-time commercial construction opportunity in Shakopee, Minnesota. This is a hands-on field position for an experienced commercial drywaller with strong skills across the complete drywall process, including hanging, taping, mudding, sanding, and finishing.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Sheet Rocker / Drywaller will perform drywall, carpentry, and assigned construction tasks on active commercial job sites while maintaining high standards for quality and safety. This position requires an experienced tradesperson who can work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment, read blueprints, safely operate jobsite tools and equipment, and assist less experienced team members as needed.
The position reports directly to the Lead Drywaller or Superintendent on site. Work schedules may range from approximately 40-70 hours per week depending on project demands and workload, with eligible overtime paid at 1.5 times the regular hourly rate.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Hang and install drywall / sheetrock on commercial construction projects
Tape drywall joints and prepare surfaces for finishing
Apply mud / joint compound and complete required finishing work
Sand and prepare drywall surfaces to commercial-quality standards
Paint drywall as assigned
Perform carpentry and other assigned construction tasks
Perform demolition as required
Read and follow construction blueprints and project plans
Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively
Inspect and operate aerial equipment, skid steers, and forklifts
Unload construction materials and equipment
Properly store and stage materials for jobsite operations
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite
Follow company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and applicable construction-site safety standards
Apply sound judgment and problem-solving skills to jobsite challenges
Follow complex directions from the Lead Drywaller, Superintendent, and project leadership
Assist and support less experienced team members as needed
Maintain quality workmanship while meeting commercial project schedules and production expectations
Travel to job sites as required
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work is performed on active commercial construction job sites
Must be comfortable working in a high-intensity construction environment
Regular standing, walking on uneven surfaces, climbing, and kneeling required
Regular lifting of up to 50 pounds
Occasional lifting of up to 80 pounds
Must be able to work in environments where temperature and noise levels fluctuate
Must be able to safely wear all job-required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Must have sufficient vision, hearing, and communication ability to safely work with coworkers and clients on active job sites

Residential-only experience without demonstrated commercial drywall experience does not meet the core requirements of this search.
