Job description

Are you passionate about teaching others the joy of playing an instrument or enhancing their voice? At Amanda Bailey Studios (www.AmandaBaileyStudios.com) we pride ourselves in teaching students from pre-K through adult to learn and love to play and sing. We are currently looking for instructors who can help our students find and refine that passion. We currently are seeking voice instructors for in-home lessons. The greater Raleigh area is booming with students and we need you to keep up with the demand! Pay starts at $40/hr (with raise eligibility after 6 months) and you will have the flexibility to create your own schedule and number of students taught.


Position Overview:

At Amanda Bailey Studios, as an instructor, you will be responsible for teaching and instructing students from beginner to advanced levels. Our teachers provide in-home, and remote based, instruction in piano and voice, as well as other instruments (varies by teacher abilities) in the greater Raleigh area.


What you will do:

  • Work with students and/or their parents to determine weekly lesson schedule that is convenient for both you and the student
  • Instruct students utilizing a variety of lesson books, tablet apps, and sheet music that helps to keep the student engaged and excited about their lessons
  • Teach and reinforce proper technique and warm-ups at each lesson
  • Assist students in learning to read music
  • Prepare students for recitals, auditions, and other performances as needed
  • Conduct lessons virtually when needed or preferred by student
  • Track your lessons taught on our online system


Job Requirements:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in music or currently pursuing degree or equivalent years of experience

Experience

  • 1 or more years teaching voice and/or piano lessons
  • 1 or more years working with children

Skills/Competencies

  • Ability to teach students of various ages ranging from pre-k to adult
  • Ability to teach beginner level to advanced level piano and/or voice
  • Respond to both student and studio inquires in a timely manner
  • Be organized with student lessons and assignments
  • Ability to incorporate technology (such as apps) into lessons
  • Be proficient in utilizing online video technology when remote lessons are needed/requested
  • Treat all students, regardless of age or ability, with utmost respect and patience

Work Schedule

  • Teachers will be able to create their own schedule by working with students (or parents) to find instruction time that is mutually beneficial
  • Weekday afternoons are most requested
  • May be able to work weekends if preferred

Travel

  • Lessons will primarily be conducted in the students’ home so the ability to travel to lessons throughout the Raleigh area is required
  • A current and valid NC driver's license is required
