Job description

At ARA, we strive to hire valuable colleagues with not only the right skills, but who also demonstrate our core values of passion, freedom, service and growth.

Are you a QA engineer with your hands in multiple stages of the software development process and looking for a change? Or are you a build manager or DevSecOps engineer with a penchant for finding flaws? Our team in Raleigh, NC is looking for an unusual cross between software developer and quality assurance. Our ideal candidate will either be someone with a testing background who has expanded their skillset to include more of the configuration/build management role, or someone from the software build/development side who understands that testing is its own skillset and they happen to have it.

The successful applicant will:

  • Plan and implement automated scripts to monitor the health and functionality of a cloud-based software development environment.
  • Work closely with cloud engineers to plan and implement verification of services prior to and immediately after deployment.
  • Work with network engineers to plan and implement verification of networking changes in a positive and negative testing approach.
  • Work with security engineers to design and implement tests and verify security tool configurations and general security of the environment.
  • Work with other QA team members to share knowledge and coordinate coverage for occasional after-hours environment changes.
  • Document test coverage and methodologies in the team confluence space for future reference

Senior QA Engineer Position Requirements:

  • Successfully acquire and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) access
  • Successfully obtain DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification (Security+, CCNA-Security, etc.) within 60 days of hire.
  • Experience working with software development tools such as: GitLab, Bitbucket, SonarQube, OpenShift, Artifactory
  • Must be willing to participate in occasional evening and weekend work as needed
  • Willing to work on-site, at least 4 days a week, at our Raleigh, NClocation

Senior QA Engineer Position Preferences:

  • 3+ years working in hybrid cloud environments (e.g., Azure Government, AWS GovCloud, OpenStack).
  • Experience with scripting or automation tools (PowerShell, Bash, Python, Terraform).
