What are some common challenges faced by a Weekend Creative, and how can they be managed?

Weekend Creatives often balance tight deadlines and multiple projects within a limited timeframe, which can make time management challenging. Collaborating efficiently with clients and team members who may have standard weekday hours requires clear communication and proactive scheduling. To succeed, it’s important to set clear boundaries, prioritize tasks, and make use of digital collaboration tools to stay connected with your team. Additionally, taking time to recharge during off-hours helps maintain creativity and prevent burnout.

What are some jobs to do on the weekend?

These roles often offer flexible hours and may require skills in specific tools like Adobe Creative Suite or photography equipment. They provide opportunities to build a portfolio and earn extra income outside regular work hours.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Weekend Creative, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Weekend Creative, you need a strong portfolio showcasing creative content, proficiency in design or media production, and ideally a background in marketing or communications. Familiarity with creative software such as Adobe Creative Suite, social media management tools, and project collaboration platforms is typically required. Standout soft skills include adaptability, strong time management, and effective communication to deliver high-quality work within tight weekend timelines. These skills are crucial for producing compelling, on-brand content efficiently and collaborating smoothly with clients or teams during condensed work periods.

Job description

At Crocs, Inc., every career offers a chance to make a real impact. No two journeys look the same. And that's exactly how we like it. Whether you're welcoming customers into our stores, collaborating with global teams at our headquarters, or keeping operations moving at our distribution centers, your impact is real and valued. At Crocs, Inc. you're not expected to fit a mold. You're encouraged to break it and create something better.
Overview
Crocs is seeking a Creative Director, Partnerships and Collectibles to lead creative vision and execution across brand collaborations, limited drops, and collectible storytelling.
Reporting to the Vice President, Global Creative, this role defines how Crocs shows up in partnership with other brands, talent, and cultural voices. This leader will shape ideas that balance identities, ensuring every collaboration feels authentic, additive, and unmistakably Crocs without letting one voice dominate the other.
You will lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for the full creative expression of partnerships. This includes campaign storytelling across film and photography, packaging and product storytelling, e-commerce, and visual merchandising.
The ideal candidate is both a visionary and a builder. Someone who understands how to create ideas that live across systems, partners, and product while maintaining clarity, craft, and cultural relevance.
THE KIND OF CREATIVE WHO THRIVES HERE
  • You're curious about culture and how brands intersect within it.
  • You're imaginative in how ideas can bring different worlds together.
  • You understand balance. You know how to hold multiple perspectives and shape work where every voice feels intentional and considered.
  • You think in systems, not just moments, building ideas that extend across product, packaging, storytelling, and experience.
  • You care deeply about craft, from campaign storytelling to the smallest detail in a collectible.
  • You're comfortable navigating complexity, working across teams, partners, and constraints without losing the idea.
  • You're inspired by culture, design, and the unexpected.
  • At Crocs, we call that Wonderfully Unordinary.

What You'll Do
  • Lead with vision: Define the creative direction for partnerships and collectibles, ensuring every collaboration feels balanced, intentional, and brand-right
  • Build ideas in partnership: Develop concepts that bring two brands together in harmony, creating something new without compromising either identity
  • Own the full expression: Oversee creative across campaigns, film, photography, packaging, e-commerce, and retail environments
  • Champion storytelling: Translate partnership strategy into compelling narratives that drive cultural relevance and consumer excitement
  • Design for product and drop culture: Shape how collaborations come to life through packaging, collectibles, and in-hand experiences
  • Lead and inspire teams: Guide a multidisciplinary team across art direction, design, and copy, setting a high bar for both thinking and execution
  • Collaborate cross-functionally: Partner closely with Marketing, Product, Merchandising, and external collaborators to align creative with business and cultural opportunity
  • Drive craft and consistency: Ensure all outputs reflect a high level of quality, cohesion, and attention to detail across every touchpoint
  • Navigate complexity: Manage multiple partners, timelines, and expectations while maintaining creative clarity and momentum
  • Present with impact: Communicate ideas and creative direction confidently to internal leadership and external partners
  • Stay culturally attuned: Bring awareness of trends, collaborators, and cultural movements to identify meaningful partnership opportunities
  • Experiment with new tools: Stay curious and open to innovation - exploring how AI, emerging technology, and evolving creative processes can unlock new ways to tell stories and create at scale

What You'll Bring to the Table
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience
  • At least 10+ years of experience in creative roles across brand, agency, or in-house teams
  • At least 3+ years leading and developing creative teams
  • Strong experience in brand collaborations, partnerships, or cultural marketing
  • Proven ability to lead work across campaigns, packaging, retail, and digital touchpoints
  • Expert-level art direction, design, and or copywriting skills
  • Strong storytelling and concept development abilities
  • Experience working with external partners, collaborators, and talent
  • Ability to manage complex projects with multiple collaborators
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to craft across all outputs
  • Understanding of consumer insights, trends, and cultural dynamics
