POSITION SUMMARY

The Warewasher/Cold Cook is responsible for preparation of food for patients and the cafeteria menu. They will pre-dish patient food items and assemble patient trays. The Warewasher/Cold Cook is also responsible for sanitation, upkeep of the food service/culinary dept., and making sure that all food safety and quality standards are followed. The Warewasher/Cold Cook is responsible for washing of all cafeteria, patient tray, and kitchen dishes. They will also assist the Chefs with patient order preparation including tray assembly, answer phone calls and take orders, stocking of snacks on nursing units using proper stock rotation, and serving visitors in the cafeteria. They will deliver patient trays in a professional and customer friendly manner. They will maintain a clean and safe environment following the safety guidelines set by Prairie Ridge Health (PRH), State and Federal regulations. The Warewasher/Cold Cook may also be responsible for competently performing the job duties of the Culinary Ambassador and/or Barista as assigned.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION:

  • Minimum Age Requirement: 15 years old
  • High school diploma or equivalent desirable
  • Preferred knowledge of therapeutic diets
  • Previous institutional cooking or food service desirable
  • Once employed, must complete annual required education on food safety and sanitation.

Shift: Weekdays - 8am-3pm, 4pm-7pm
Weekends - 9:30am-6pm, 8am-3pm or 3pm-7pm. Rotating weekends and holidays

FTE: 0.9 (36 hours per week)
