Guiding Angels at Home Care
Westmoreland, TN (37186 — Macon County) | Part-Time / Weekends | In-Person

About the Role

Guiding Angels at Home Care is seeking a dependable, compassionate Personal Assistant (PA) to provide weekend care for an adult male client in his home. This client has paraplegia and uses mobility equipment, so comfort with transfers is essential. He values his independence, likes things done his way, and is described by those who know him as having a warm, positive personality.

This is meaningful, hands-on work helping someone stay safely and comfortably in his own home.

Schedule

  • Days: Saturdays and Sundays
  • Hours: 9 hours per day (18 hours/week)
  • Start window: Between 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM
  • Consistent weekend schedule — great for someone seeking steady weekend hours

Duties & Scope of Care

  • Personal care: Bathing, dressing, grooming, hair washing, nail trimming, personal hygiene
  • Toileting & incontinence care
  • Mobility & transfers: Assisting with safe transfers and use of the power and manual wheelchair
  • Meal support: Meal preparation and assistance with eating
  • Homemaker tasks: Light housekeeping, laundry, tidying
  • Errands & shopping

Special Equipment Used in the Home

  • Power wheelchair
  • Manual wheelchair
  • Hospital bed
  • Shower chair
  • Bedside commode

Requirements

  • Reliable, punctual, and compassionate with a person-centered approach
  • Comfortable performing hands-on personal care and safe transfers (training available)
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Comfortable working in a home where the client smokes
  • No pets in the home
  • Prior PCA, caregiver, CNA, or home-care experience is a plus
