Job description

Summary:

The Batching Operator is responsible for preparing bulk products for production by blending and mixing raw materials according to detailed work instructions. This role ensures product quality and efficiency while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe workspace. Responsibilities include managing raw materials, verifying finished batches, and operating necessary equipment like pH meters and mixers. This position requires attention to detail, effective communication, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Essential Functions:

  • Follow exact procedures and instructions for batching and blending materials.
  • Conduct quality checks and minimize errors in the batching process.
  • Add, filter, and blend ingredients as per instructions.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the batching area.
  • Record batch information accurately and input data into records.
  • Operate equipment efficiently, such as pH meters and mixers, after completing necessary training.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure processes are followed correctly.
  • Apply safety procedures consistently when handling equipment and materials.

Required Education and Experience:

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One to three years of related experience in batching, manufacturing, or a similar environment.
  • Current Food Handler Permit.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as a laptop, desktop, smartphone, and photocopiers. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate/loud. Essential oils are worn and/or diffused in the work environment.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This position requires the incumbent to be physically present at the assigned worksite. The regular schedule is from7a.m. to3:30p.m.,with a 30-minutelunch, Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Employees are also expected to work at least one non-convention farm event a year and to work at the annual company convention.

Exact hour requirements can be reasonably modified as necessary for the business needs by the employee's manager.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Specific vision abilities of this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is required to type, file, and occasionally lift office supplies up to65pounds. The employee must be physically able to tolerate the scent of essential oils worn or diffused.
