Position Information
RHS Job Title Audio-Visual Technician Job Description
$14 per hour!

*Due to the minimum wage increase at MSU, the starting rate for this position is going to be $15 effective 8/9/26. Those hired prior to 8/9/26 will also be brought to the new minimum on this effective date.
Are you a person who is customer-focused, hardworking, a team player, and dependable? If you answered Yes, then we want you!
As a Student Audio-Visual Technician, you will provide technical help with a wide array of audio-visual equipment to customers and guests of the Kellogg Center. You will also be responsible for keeping all audio and video equipment run smoothly including:
  • flat screen televisions
  • projectors
  • microphones
  • sound systems
  • laptops
  • audio monitors

It is your job to make sure the Kellogg Center receives the best possible customer service.
Required Qualifications
  • Be enrolled as a student at Michigan State University (during academic year).
  • Demonstrated commitment to outstanding customer service.
  • Must be a motivated self-starter and able to complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision.
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal) and be positive and respectful, especially when working with a diverse population.
  • Must be dependable and punctual.
  • Some audio-visual experience or technical aptitude required.
  • Be able to occasionally work nights and/or weekends.
  • Must be able to work through Fall 2026 semesters.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Any AV experience working on projectors, microphones, sound systems, etc.
