Job description

Colt Electro Optics (Colt Optics), a division of Colt CZ Group North America, is looking for an Assembly Technician.
Located in Traverse City, Michigan, Colt Optics is a global supplier of electro-optics, magnified optics, night vision systems and other weapons, accessories and enablers.
Summary: The Assembly Technician is responsible for the precision assembly of firearm optics products in a controlled clean manufacturing environment. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, manual dexterity, and a strong commitment to quality.
Assembly Technicians operate as part of a cross-functional team and are expected to rotate between assembly stations, supporting multiple stages of the production process. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that products meet Colt Optics' performance, reliability, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assemble mechanical, electrical, and optical components according to work instructions and engineering specifications
  • Perform assembly tasks in accordance with internal cleanroom manufacturing standards, including use of gloves, gowns, and contamination control practices
  • Conform to and maintain ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) control requirements
  • Rotate between multiple assembly stations to support production flow and team coverage
  • Conduct in-process inspections and self-verification of work, including use of microscopes where required
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and controlled work environment
  • Follow all safety, quality, and procedural requirements
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules and delivery commitments

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Entry to mid-level experience in manufacturing, assembly, or related field
  • Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
  • Ability to follow detailed work instructions and procedures
  • Team-oriented mindset with willingness to support cross-functional responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in precision assembly (optics, electronics, medical devices, or similar)
  • Familiarity with cleanroom or controlled manufacturing environments
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
  • Experience with ERP systems (Epicor is a plus)
