Job description

School Operations and Communications Manager

Reports to: Head of Weekday School

Department: Weekday School

Date: September 2026

Scheduled Work Week: Full-Time Onsite (Monday – Friday) 8:00am – 4:00pm

Job Summary:

Provide administrative and operational support to the Head of School


Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Manages all general operations of the reception area of the school office (includes teacher and parent correspondence including phone, and email)
  • Generates and distributes all school notices and information (calendars, events, scheduling of appointments)
  • Responsible for maintaining and updating all student files, medical information and emergency contact information
  • Works with Operations Department in the organization of classroom space, rental space within Riverside Church and all other room assignments for all events for the Weekday School
  • Monitor supply inventory and assist with ordering materials as needed
  • Help ensure compliance with licensing, safety, and health regulations
  • Generates all tuition invoices. Works in conjunction with the Head of School to communicate any arrears in a timely and professional fashion
  • Track and reconcile school expenses and petty cash
  • Support lunch distribution to classrooms
  • Support school socials and web page in partnership with Head of School and Communication Department

Experience and Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in business administration or related field
  • 3 – 5 years of administrative support experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Canva
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively coordinate complex events and collaborate with various departments and ministries
  • Knowledge of The Riverside Church and its mission required
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Self-motivated work ethic
