Job description

About the role:

Juno Beach, FL

The Senior Manager, Interconnection Services plays a critical role in supporting the growth of new generating assets by leading the generator interconnection process from early development through construction. This role partners with our teams and external entities (ISOs, RTOs, transmission providers/owners) to evaluate interconnection feasibility, manage studies, and navigate regulatory requirements. You'll be a technical leader positioning projects, optimizing them, and connecting them to the grid.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform interconnection and injection studies using tools like PowerGEM, PSS/E, ASPEN, and TARA to identify project locations
  • Manage the generator interconnection application process, ensuring compliance with ISO/RTO and regulatory timelines
  • Review system impact studies, facility studies, and network upgrade costs
  • Coordinate with our teams (development, engineering, construction) and external partners (ISO/RTOs, utilities, transmission providers)
  • Analyze grid constraints, reliability standards, and transmission planning criteria to guide project decisions
  • Support and participate in technical negotiations with transmission providers and owners to improve solutions and reduce costs
  • Develop strategies to minimize curtailment and improve interconnection outcomes
  • Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and transmission policies to inform project strategy
  • Communicate complex technical findings to leadership and non-technical partners

Qualifications:

  • Experienced in power systems, transmission planning, and generator interconnection processes
  • 5+ years of experience with power flow, short-circuit, and stability analysis tools
  • Experience with ISO/RTO processes, NERC standards, and transmission regulations
