Job Summary:
Abacus Service Corporation is seeking a talented PowerBI Developer to join the Florida Department of Transportation team in Tallahassee, FL. This role involves modernizing Florida's financial systems through the Florida PALM Project by focusing on data visualization and actionable insights.
Responsibilities:
• Analyze the current data environment to identify necessary transformations for dashboard development.
• Collaborate with management to develop a comprehensive reporting roadmap.
• Enhance existing reports to meet current business needs.
• Automate data transformation processes, reducing reliance on Excel.
• Convert WebFOCUS and Mainframe FOCUS queries to T-SQL queries.
• Create database views and stored procedures for Power BI report facilitation.
• Develop dataflows and administer the Power BI dedicated workspace.
• Train staff on utilizing Power BI reports.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's Degree in technology or finance-related field (or equivalent work experience)
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in Business Intelligence
• At least 2 years of experience developing dashboards and reports in Microsoft Power BI
• Strong SQL skills and experience with IBM DB2 databases
• Familiarity with data governance best practices and advanced data structures
• Understanding of Power BI integration with Microsoft tools
Preferred:
• Experience with Oracle Datawarehouse
• Knowledge of mainframe programming languages and financial systems like ERP
• Experience with WebFOCUS
