What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Web3 Project Manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Web3 Project Manager, you need a solid understanding of blockchain technology, decentralized applications (dApps), and project management principles, often supported by experience in software development or technical product management. Familiarity with tools like Jira, GitHub, and blockchain platforms such as Ethereum or Solana, as well as certifications like PMP or Agile, is highly beneficial. Strong communication, adaptability, and stakeholder management skills help coordinate cross-functional teams in the rapidly evolving Web3 space. These competencies are crucial for delivering innovative solutions, ensuring project alignment, and navigating the complexities of decentralized ecosystems.

What are the main challenges of working on a Web3 project, and how can team members effectively address them?

Working on a Web3 project often involves navigating rapidly evolving technologies, frequent changes in blockchain standards, and complex decentralized systems. Team members may encounter challenges such as interoperability between blockchains, ensuring robust security practices, and staying current with regulatory developments. Effective communication and collaboration within cross-functional teams—comprising developers, product managers, and legal advisors—are crucial to addressing these issues. Regularly participating in industry forums, code reviews, and continuous learning can help team members stay ahead in this dynamic environment.

What are Web3 projects?

Web3 projects are decentralized applications or platforms built on blockchain technology that aim to give users more control over their data and digital assets. Unlike traditional web applications, Web3 projects leverage smart contracts and distributed ledgers to enable peer-to-peer interactions without intermediaries. Examples include decentralized finance (DeFi) platforms, NFT marketplaces, and decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs). These projects are often open-source and community-driven, promoting transparency and innovation in the digital landscape.

What is the difference between Web3 Project vs Blockchain Developer?

AspectWeb3 ProjectBlockchain Developer
Required CredentialsKnowledge of blockchain tech, smart contracts, decentralized appsProficiency in blockchain programming languages, smart contract development
Work EnvironmentCollaborative teams, project management, cross-functional rolesTechnical coding, smart contract deployment, blockchain infrastructure
Employer & Industry UsageStartups, crypto firms, decentralized platformsBlockchain companies, fintech, crypto projects
Search & Comparison IntentUnderstanding project roles, career paths in Web3Technical skills, coding responsibilities in blockchain

Web3 Project roles focus on managing and coordinating decentralized applications and blockchain initiatives, often requiring project management skills and understanding of blockchain concepts. Blockchain Developers, on the other hand, are primarily responsible for coding, deploying, and maintaining smart contracts and blockchain infrastructure. While both roles require blockchain knowledge, Web3 Projects emphasize project execution and ecosystem development, whereas Blockchain Developers concentrate on technical implementation.

We have already completed an initial financing round to support infrastructure and marketing, and are currently in discussions with VCs and crypto investors to fund expansion and salaries. Salaried compensation is expected to begin within 4 to 5 months, following our node, token sales or funding.
ROLE: DEX & Liquidity Infrastructure Specialist (Web3 / Token Launch)
Autheo is preparing for the Token Generation Event (TGE) and mainnet launch of its native ecosystem token THEO, powering our high-performance Layer-1 blockchain and decentralized infrastructure ecosystem.
As a part-time DEX & Liquidity Infrastructure Specialist in an equity-based cofounder role, you will lead the end-to-end design, deployment, and management of decentralized exchange (DEX) infrastructure, liquidity provisioning, and token market operations. You will ensure deep, stable, efficient, and scalable markets for THEO across leading DEXs while coordinating with CEXs for maximum liquidity and trading stability from day one.
Key Responsibilities:
1. DEX Setup & Token Listings
Set up and manage token listings on leading DEXs (e.g., Uniswap, Osmosis, PancakeSwap, and other EVM/Cosmos-based platforms).
Design and deploy core liquidity pairs (e.g., THEO/USDC, THEO/ETH, THEO/wBTC).
2. Liquidity Provisioning & Market Optimization
Develop and execute liquidity provisioning strategies, including initial seeding, rebalancing, and ongoing management.
Work with aggregators, routing protocols, and market makers to optimize trading efficiency, depth, and minimize slippage.
Monitor liquidity pools, impermanent loss, pricing stability, and overall market health in real time.
3. Exchange Coordination & Incentives
Coordinate with centralized exchanges (CEXs) on listings, liquidity support, and market-making readiness.
Implement and manage LP incentives, staking rewards, and yield strategies to attract and retain sustainable liquidity.
4. Launch Strategy & Risk Management
Advise on token launch structure, including TGE mechanics, liquidity timing, vesting schedules, and supply dynamics.
Ensure best practices for security, smart contract interactions, and risk mitigation across all liquidity operations.
Qualifications:

Proven experience successfully launching tokens and managing liquidity on major DEXs.
Deep understanding of AMMs, liquidity pools, concentrated liquidity mechanics, and token pair dynamics.
Hands-on experience across multiple blockchain ecosystems (Ethereum, EVM chains, Cosmos/IBC, etc.).
Familiarity with liquidity management tools, aggregators, market-making strategies, and CEX listing requirements.
Strong knowledge of tokenomics, vesting schedules, and their impact on market stability.
Preferred:
