Job description

Position Summary

The Web/IoT Application Developer will participate in developing, testing, delivering, and maintaining high quality, database driven, web-based applications to support Cold Jet’s world class web intranet and commercial IoT platform (Cold Jet CONNECT) infrastructure.

They will support a growing sales force, global customer service organization, distribution network, and customer base and be responsible for development of interfaces for multiple target audiences (internal and external) using Cold Jet’s websites, intranet, and internal systems (including building interfaces to third-party web services, as necessary).

Position Responsibilities

Development & Infrastructure

  • Develop and test web applications, encompassing project analysis, design, coding, debugging, and thorough documentation.
  • Create high-quality application and enhancement designs utilizing current development tools.
  • Maintain the hardware and software infrastructure for all web-based applications, including support for the integration of office IT systems as necessary.
  • Resolve project-related issues effectively and in a timely manner.
  • Stay current with emerging technology and provide recommendations to the company.
  • Engage effectively with global internal and external customers.

Quality Assurance & Problem Solving

  • Continuously improve and maintain Cold Jet’s suite of web applications.
  • Solve complex problems using analytical skills, creative thinking, and collaborative input.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive test and implementation plans.
  • Provide quick and accurate resolution to technical issues.
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Develop solutions based on design specifications when available, and craft unique solutions to emerging problems.

Project Management

  • Manage assigned technology projects.
  • Oversee technical resources, ensuring projects remain within budget and on schedule.

Training & User Support

  • Provide training to Cold Jet employees on the optimal use of developed systems and functionality.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve global platform issues as they arise.

Position Requirements

Technical Skills & Experience

  • Core Programming: Proficient in PHP, SQL/mySQL, and Javascript/jQuery.
  • Web Technologies: Competent in HTML/XHTML and CSS.
  • System Integration: Exposure to integrating web applications with various business systems.
  • Web Server Management: Working knowledge of Apache web servers.
  • Linux OS: Knowledge of Linux OS (user, administration, and programming).
  • Development Lifecycle: Ability to develop code, write unit tests, and ensure successful production implementation.
  • Beneficial Experience:
