Job Description

This position will be responsible for the migration of web services from Windows Server 2003 to Windows Server 2008 or 2012.   

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Work with business partners and vendors to implement custom applications and 3rd party web vended applications on the following application servers into our web infrastructure managed environment:
    • IIS
    • Apache
    • Tomcat
    • WebSphere
  • Harden servers to meet web security guidelines
  • Resolve IT-related problems by conferring with customers, performing research, evaluating procedures and documentation, testing and implementing solutions.
  • Developing and documenting new procedures and revising existing procedures.

Qualifications

Basic/Required:

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • IT related technical experience including direct experience with networking, hardware and/or software installations and configurations
    • Windows Server (2003, 2008, and/or 2012)
    • IIS web server and ASP.NET configuration and administration
    • DNS (Internal/External) administration experience
  • Specific knowledge of TCP/IP, virtual environments, and firewalls
  • Specific knowledge of SSL encryption
  • Strong analytical problem solving skills
  • Strong internet troubleshooting skills including network tracing
  • Customer-focused attitude and desire to interface directly with clients
  • Ability to provide 24/7 after hours support

Preferred Technical Skills:

  • 5+ years of IT related technical education with a degree in MIS or Computer Science
  • 5+ years of IIS experience
    • including experience with configuring and administrating multiple .NET framework versions
  • 3+ years of Apache/Tomcat, and/or WebSphere/WebLogic administration experience
    • including experience with configuring and administrating multiple Java versions
  • 3+ years of Cisco ACE load balancer administration experience
  • 3+ years of Citrix NetScaler appliance administration experience
  • Experience with basic authentication and Kerberos methodologies regarding web site security and encryption
  • Experience with Secure Socket Layer (SSL) configuration on web servers
  • Familiar with reverse proxy support

Soft Skills:

  • Ability to simplify and explain technical information and solutions to both customers and management through both verbal and written communication.  This includes the ability to author technical documentation.
  • Highly motivated to carry out instructions without requiring constant supervision and direction
