Stabbert Marine & Industrial is a family-owned company specializing in vessel repair, construction, and industrial solutions. With two full-service shipyards, in Ballard and Anacortes, and a commitment to quality, safety, and innovation, we deliver reliable marine services that keep the maritime industry moving forward.


POSITION SUMMARY:

The position supports the General Manager and Business Development Manager by establishing and maintaining processes to manage scope over the project lifecycle, setting project quality and performance standards, and assessing and managing risk within and across, multiple projects. This position is based on our Ballard location and is a salaried role.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES (This list is not intended to detail all aspects of the assigned work but is representative of the job’s overall responsibilities):

· Responsible for the development of properly formatted specifications/work items and estimates containing all required technical information and production information, by conducting ship-checks and review of ship system drawings, blueprints, and technical publications.

· Establish and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders, providing day-to-day contact on project status and changes.

· Lead projects from requirements definition through deployment, identifying schedules, scopes, budget estimations and project implementation plans, including risk mitigation.

· To coordinate internal and external resources, ensuring projects remain within scope, schedule, and defined budgets, in collaboration with project staff from various functional departments.

· Perform ship checks as required to identify work scope as needed to develop work items and estimate.

· Analyze project progress and, when necessary, adapt scope, timelines, and costs to ensure that project team adheres to project requirements.

· Monitor and assign resources appropriately to streamline project efficiency and maximize deliverable outputs

· Report project outcomes and/or risks to the appropriate management channels as needed - escalating issues as necessary based on project work plan

· Develop, manage, and follow through with daily project reports to customers.

· Develop and maintain partnerships with outside resources—including third-party vendors and researchers

· Conducts check point inspections as necessary.


JOB SCOPE:

The role operates within established parameters and standards but may use sound judgments and independent decision making when carrying out job responsibilities. As part of the OpT staff, the individual is held accountable for the profitable performance of the work performed. Failure to meet the expectations of the customer could result in significant loss of future business.


INTERPERSONAL CONTACTS:
The Project Manager interacts with managers, foreman and leads at various levels in the business unit, with limited interactions outside this group. The position represents the Company through formal and informal interactions with the customer. Face-to-face meetings usually occur at least daily, primarily during project execution phases.


KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

· Good communication and interpersonal skills; capable of maintaining strong relationships both with the team and customers

· Hands-on experience with developing web technologies and software platforms for maximum usability

· Team-management and leadership skills

· Strong attention to deadlines and budgetary guidelines

· Experience developing in-house platforms for internal processes

Requirements:

· High School Diploma or GED Certificate is required. BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience is preferred.

· Maritime Engineering or Project Managment: 5 years (Required)

· Knowledge of ship construction, shipboard systems, equipment and their operation is preferred, but not required

· Should be able to lift to 20 pounds

· There may be local travel and out-of-town travel (including air travel) up to 5% of the time with notice.

· The individual may be required to be in production areas in yard and onboard ships.

· He/she must be able to walk to and from job sites.

· The person must be able to climb inclined stairways and vertical ladders; to enter confined areas and tanks; to work at heights
