Anthropic

Job description

About Anthropic
Anthropic's mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the role
We are seeking a Web Product Manager to build and lead the strategy and roadmap for claude.com. As the first web product manager, you will develop and execute the vision that turns our websites into our strongest acquisition, conversion, and storytelling channels. You will work in a fast paced environment driving awareness, preference, and adoption for Claude across prosumer and enterprise audiences.
We are looking for a strategic builder. As our first web product manager you should be comfortable shaping strategy and roadmap without an existing playbook, making data-informed prioritization calls, and influencing partners across marketing, design, and engineering.
Key responsibilities
  • Own the web experience strategy for claude.com, setting the vision for how our marketing surfaces work together as a portfolio and ensuring each site performs against its audience and goals
  • Stand up the web experimentation program across claude.com. Raise the team's experimentation velocity and rigor over time by setting up hypotheses, prioritizing landing page creation, analysis, and rollout.
  • Drive conversion rate optimization across acquisition, signup, and checkout funnels, identifying the highest-leverage opportunities and partnering with Web Design and Growth Product to ship them
  • Establish our web analytics foundation with Data Science, ensuring we have the instrumentation, dashboards, and funnel reporting needed to make growth decisions quickly
  • Lead our international and localization strategy for the web, partnering with regional marketing and localization teams to ensure our surfaces perform in every market we serve
  • Partner with Growth Product, Data, and Enterprise Marketing to build the tooling, instrumentation, and funnel infrastructure that make web experimentation fast and measurable
  • Collaborate with SEO and paid channel owners on on-page requirements and landing page experiments
  • Coordinate inbound web requests from Product Marketing, Enterprise Marketing, Sales Ops, and other stakeholders, prioritizing against growth impact rather than request volume
  • Build a durable measurement story for the web, for example, what we're testing, what we've learned, and what it's worth to the business. Communicate it regularly to marketing and executive leadership.
Minimum qualifications
  • Strong strategic thinking abilities, with the ability to translate Anthropic's business goals into a clear, prioritized web roadmap that aligns with broader marketing and product strategy
  • Track record of driving measurable business results through the web in competitive, fast-moving markets
  • A strong point of view on what makes the web a category-defining channel for a technology company
  • A track record of running experimentation programs that moved meaningful business metrics, with a clear ROI story rather than just a backlog of A/B tests
  • Setting strategy for localized web experiences and workflows across various regions and languages
  • Strong quantitative instincts and fluency with analytics tools, funnel modeling, and experimentation design
  • Experience operating at the seam between Marketing, Design, and Engineering, with the ability to influence without owning and say no to requests that won't move the needle
  • Excellent prioritization judgment and cross-functional gravity - you can walk into a room of competing stakeholders and leave it aligned on what's shipping and why
  • A collaborative, low-ego operating style that treats design craft and growth performance as compatible rather than opposing goals
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with comfort presenting strategy and results to executive audiences
  • Deep interest in AI and its potential to positively impact how people work, learn, and create
Preferred qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in web product management, web growth, digital strategy, CRO, or web experimentation at consumer or B2B technology companies
  • In-depth knowledge of technical SEO and site architecture
  • A background marketing AI, developer, or other technical products to both consumer and enterprise audiences
  • Fluency shipping and optimizing localized web experiences across international markets
  • A history of partnering closely with in-house brand and design teams on high-craft marketing sites
  • Familiarity with developer-focused web surfaces
  • Led large, cross-functional web initiatives with measurable impact on conversion and brand perception

The annual compensation range for this role is listed below.
For sales roles, the range provided is the role's On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role.
Annual Salary:
$305,000-$385,000 USD
Logistics
Minimum education: Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience
Required field of study: A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience
Minimum years of experience: Years of experience required will correlate with the internal job level requirements for the position
Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However, some roles may require more time in our offices.
Visa sponsorship: We do sponsor visas! However, we aren't able to successfully sponsor visas for every role and every candidate. But if we make you an offer, we will make every reasonable effort to get you a visa, and we retain an immigration lawyer to help with this.
We encourage you to apply even if you do not believe you meet every single qualification. Not all strong candidates will meet every single qualification as listed. Research shows that people who identify as being from underrepresented groups are more prone to experiencing imposter syndrome and doubting the strength of their candidacy, so we urge you not to exclude yourself prematurely and to submit an application if you're interested in this work. We think AI systems like the ones we're building have enormous social and ethical implications. We think this makes representation even more important, and we strive to include a range of diverse perspectives on our team.
Your safety matters to us. To protect yourself from potential scams, remember that Anthropic recruiters only contact you from @anthropic.com email addresses. In some cases, we may partner with vetted recruiting agencies who will identify themselves as working on behalf of Anthropic. Be cautious of emails from other domains. Legitimate Anthropic recruiters will never ask for money, fees, or banking information before your first day. If you're ever unsure about a communication, don't click any links-visit anthropic.com/careers directly for confirmed position openings.
How we're different
We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact - advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI - rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.
The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.
Come work with us!
Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues.
