Annexa is currently working with D.C. Government's Department of Licensing and Consumer Protection and we are currently seeking a Web Designer Master. The Web Designer Master will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and enhancing web applications as well as digital platforms built on the latest versions of Drupal. This role ensures high‑quality, secure, scalable, and user‑centered digital experiences that support organizational goals. The developer collaborates closely with designers, content teams, product owners, and IT leadership to deliver modern, accessible, and high‑performing web solutions.
Responsibilities:
Develop, configure, and maintain websites using the latest versions of Drupal (9/10/11).
Build custom modules, themes, and integrations following Drupal best practices.
Implement and maintain content types, views, taxonomies, blocks, and menus.
Ensure code quality through version control, peer reviews, and adherence to coding standards (Drupal Coding Standards, PSR‑4, Composer workflows)
Perform regular updates, security patches, and module upgrades.
Troubleshoot and resolve site issues, performance bottlenecks, and compatibility problems.
Optimize websites for speed, accessibility (WCAG 2.1+), SEO, and mobile responsiveness.
Maintain documentation for configurations, custom code, and deployment processes.
Build and maintain integrations with third‑party systems (REST, API, GraphQL, SSO, CRM, payment gateways, etc.).
Work with cloud hosting environments (Acquia, Pantheon, AWS, Azure) to deploy and manage Drupal applications.
Implement CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployments.
Work closely with UX/UI designers to implement modern, user‑friendly interfaces.
Partner with content editors to improve workflows, permissions, and editorial experience.
Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, standups, retrospectives).
Provide technical guidance and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership.
Required Skills:
16+ years of experience designing user interfaces and building webpages.

Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
Experience with headless or decoupled Drupal architectures.
