Job description

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (4 days onsite, 1 day remote)

Location: Washington, DC 

Duration: 12 month contract, with possible extension 

W-2 or 1099

The DNA Group is seeking a Database Developer with GIS Experience to support the development, maintenance, and modernization of a telecommunications-focused web-based Operational Support System (OSS). In this role, you will develop and maintain Oracle databases, support database modernization efforts, create advanced data models, integrate GIS technologies, and collaborate with an Agile/Scrum team to deliver reliable, scalable, and high-performing database solutions.


Overview Requirements:

• Develop, maintain, and enhance Oracle databases supporting enterprise web applications
• Support Oracle database migration from Oracle 11g to Oracle 19c while maintaining application functionality
• Design and develop complex SQL, PL/SQL, triggers, stored procedures, and multi-step transactions
• Create and maintain data models, Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERDs), and database documentation
• Integrate Oracle databases with Microsoft SQL Server and GIS applications
• Support spatial data management and geospatial database functionality using GIS technologies
• Collaborate within an Agile/Scrum development environment to deliver technical solutions
• Perform database maintenance, application upgrades, troubleshooting, and performance optimization
• Coordinate project activities and ensure compliance with established development standards and procedures
• Provide technical guidance, documentation, and user support as needed


Minimum Qualifications: 

• Bachelor's degree in IT or related field, or equivalent experience
• Experience developing Oracle database solutions
• Experience with database administration
• Experience with SQL, PL/SQL, triggers, and relational database design
• Experience with spatial queries and geometry objects
• Experience creating data models and Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERDs)
• Interest in or experience working with GIS technologies and Esri products
• Experience using version control systems such as Git
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
• Ability to qualify for a Journeyman-level position

• Oracle Database Development: 3 years (Required)

• Database Administration: 2 years (Required)

• Planning, Coordinating, and Monitoring Project Activities: 2 years (Required)

• Leading Projects While Following Established Standards and Procedures: 2 years (Required)

• Spatial Queries and Geometry Objects: 2 years (Required)
