Job Summary
The College of Pharmacy seeks a web designer to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to collaborate on the design, creation, and maintenance of the visual aesthetics, usability and accessibility of the college's websites. The position will support faculty lab websites, research centers, and departmental web pages in coordination with the webmaster.
Responsibilities
• Design, prototype, and test website information architecture and user experience workflows
• Translate ideas and organizational goals into wireframes, mockups, user flows, process flows, journey maps, and site maps
• Collaborate with marketing and communications, as well as back-end development teams, to support organizational objectives
• Build, maintain, and manage forms using Qualtrics and related software platforms
• Compile, analyze, and generate online data reports to support reporting requirements and data-informed decision-making
• Assist with website maintenance, accessibility improvements, troubleshooting, updates, and ongoing support tasks as needed
• Build, post, and maintain College of Pharmacy news pieces on the website from content provided by various stakeholders
Minimum Qualifications
EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).
Department may hire employee at one of the following job levels:
Web Designer, I: Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience or a master's (or equivalency) degree.
Web Designer, II: Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 4 years or a master's (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience.
Preferences
• Drupal or similar Content Management Systems (CMS)
• Website maintenance, web publishing workflows, and digital content management
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and front-end web development principles, including working knowledge of JavaScript
• Understanding of UX/UI principles, wireframing, information architecture, and responsive web design
• Experience with Qualtrics or related form and data collection platforms
• Data analysis, online reporting, and interpretation of web-related analytics
• Adobe Creative Cloud and/or other web and graphic design software
• Ability to collaborate effectively across technical, marketing, and administrative teams
• Strong organizational, communication, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
