Job description

General Description: 

Operation Smile Student Programs is looking for a creative and collaborative Production Intern to help us prepare and publish all sorts of engaging multimedia – from social media graphics to one-pagers to presentations and more – for Operation Smile Student Programs’ @osstuddpro social media networks and website, studentprograms.operationsmile.org.  

We need someone who’s agile – who creates for both print and web, who can tailor graphics for platforms as different as Facebook and Snapchat. And who can turn it around cleanly and on a deadline.  

Through this experience, the intern will: 

  • See their work shared on social media and digital platforms that reach thousands of student advocates around the world 

  • Show off their creative range and curate their portolio with the strong and varied multimedia pieces they create during the internship 

  • Analyze social media data and deepen Student Programs’ meaningful connections with their audience  

  • Hone valuable written and spoken communication skills 

  • Learn essential time management skills working in a fast-paced and dynamic media environment 

Essential Functions: 

  • Interview relevant audience members for comment around Operation Smile and Student Programs initatives and events 

  • Creates digital graphics for use across social media platforms and the Student Programs website  

  • Creates print graphics for use on T-shirts, notebooks and other materials as needed 

  • Paginates toolkits and reports that will serve as print- and digital-friendly guides for Student Programs volunteers 

  • Manages Box file system of Student Programs multimedia assets 

  • Additional duties as necessary or assigned 

  • Internship requires 15-20 hours a week and lasts from August 6. 2026 – mid May, 2027 

Experience Required(education/work):

  • Attendance at an accredited university working towardsa degree in communication or graphic arts. Third or Fourth year of college.

  • Advancedwriting skills, video editing, social media management

  • Experienced=using Microsoft Office,including Word and PowerPoint, Canva

Preferred:

  • Previousinvolvement with Operation Smile preferred

  • Preferred: Has experience working in content-driven environment, such as a school newspaper or yearbook

Characteristics/Skills Required:

  • Keen eyefor creative and engaging design

  • Ability to create whilecomplying withoverall brand guidelines

  • Savvy userof social mediaand digitalplatforms

  • Multimedia skills - including photographyand videography -a plus

  • Must be highly motivated,enthusiastic,detail-oriented and well organized
