Job description


Summary:
ADT is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Google Tag Manager (GTM) specialist with deep expertise in server-side tagging to own, manage, and continuously optimize our web and marketing tagging ecosystem. This role will be responsible for ensuring accurate, scalable, and privacy-compliant data collection across ADT's digital properties, with a strong focus on Google Tag Manager (GTM) and Google Analytics 4 (GA4).
The ideal candidate is highly technical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working across Marketing, Analytics, Engineering, and Privacy teams. You will play a critical role in transitioning to and maintaining server-side tracking architectures, improving data quality, site performance, and governance while enabling actionable insights for the business.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Own the design, implementation, and ongoing management of GTM containers across ADT web properties and applications.
  • Partner with Analytics and Development teams to define and maintain recommended data layer and site code structures that support scalable, dynamic tracking.
  • Implement and manage tracking tags, including GA4, Floodlight, marketing and advertising platforms, and server-side integrations.
  • Create, manage, and maintain GTM triggers, variables, and tag configurations following established standards.
  • Ensure accurate tag deployment using GTM preview, debug, and validation tools. Troubleshoot and resolve tracking issues related to GTM, GA4, and downstream reporting.
  • Validate tagging implementations using tools such as Google Tag Assistant and GA4 DebugView.
  • Identify potential tagging conflicts or data integrity risks prior to release and recommend effective solutions.
  • Lead GTM cleanup initiatives, including tag deprecation, restructuring, and performance improvements.
  • Optimize tagging strategies to minimize page load impact and support site performance goals.
  • Support consent management implementations (e.g., TrustArc). Partner with legal, privacy, and analytics teams to ensure compliance with applicable privacy regulations while protecting attribution accuracy.
  • Create and maintain solution design documentation outlining GTM architecture, naming conventions, and governance.

Skills and Competencies:
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience managing Google Tag Manager in a production environment.
  • Deep knowledge of GTM architecture, features, and best practices.
  • Strong understanding of data layer concepts and implementation.
  • Extensive experience with GA4 and modern analytics frameworks.
  • Proven hands-on experience implementing and maintaining server-side GTM and conversions APIs.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript and HTML.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Marketing, Software Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.
  • Experience supporting eCommerce implementations and KPIs.
  • Familiarity with custom scripts and integrations.
  • Knowledge of SQL or other data querying languages.
  • Front-end and/or back-end development experience.

Location: Our office follows a 4 days onsite and 1 day remote schedule.
