Digital Standards & Web Accessibility Reviewer

📍 Location: Lansing, MI (Hybrid)

💲 Pay Rate: $35–$43/hour (W-2)

Position Overview

We are seeking a Digital Standards & Web Accessibility Reviewer to help ensure websites, web applications, and digital documents comply with established digital accessibility and branding standards.

In this role, you'll conduct comprehensive accessibility reviews using both manual and automated testing methods, evaluate compliance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards, and collaborate with development teams to improve accessibility across enterprise digital platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Accessibility Reviews

  • Conduct accessibility audits for websites, web applications, and digital documents
  • Evaluate compliance with digital accessibility and branding standards
  • Perform manual and automated accessibility testing
  • Validate compliance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA guidelines
  • Test applications across desktop and mobile platforms
  • Identify accessibility issues and recommend remediation strategies

Assistive Technology Testing

  • Test applications using assistive technologies including:

Documentation & Reporting

Collaboration

  • Partner with development and application support teams throughout the remediation process
  • Collaborate with digital standards teams to ensure review processes are followed
  • Recommend process improvements that enhance accessibility review efficiency
  • Support additional digital standards initiatives as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Some college coursework or equivalent experience
  • 1+ year of experience testing websites or applications for digital accessibility
  • 1+ year of experience working with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
  • Advanced knowledge of WCAG 2.1 Level AA
  • Hands-on experience using assistive technologies including:
  • JAWS
  • NVDA
  • VoiceOver
  • TalkBack
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and documentation skills
  • Ability to explain technical accessibility findings to both technical and non-technical audiences

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of digital accessibility testing experience

  • Previous experience supporting government or public sector organizations
