Job Description


Work with design and development teams to help them design and develop web applications that conform to accessibility standards (e.g. WCAG 2.0, Section 508, etc.). Work with development teams while they are working to meet accessibility requirements and resolve identified accessibility issues. Work with development teams to review the accessibility of third party

Qualifications

Required: 


Extensive knowledge of web accessibility standards, specifically WCAG and US Section 508. 


Expertise in web accessibility design and development techniques.


Experience in using web accessibility testing tools during the development process - e.g. web accessibility syntax checking using semi-automated testing tools, assistive technology compatibility checking, and expert manual code inspection. 


Ability to design and develop J2EE-based web components for conformance to web accessibility standards -- e.g. JSPs including variety of components based on HTML/JavaScript/jQuery/CSS. 


Ability to design and develop accessible documentation to be deployed in a web environment (e.g. Adobe PDF documents deployed on a website).
