Lead Front-End Software Engineer (Experienced or Senior)

The Boeing Company is seeking a Lead Front-End Software Engineer (Experienced or Senior) to support our Delphi team in Colorado Springs, CO. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) business organization.

The Lead Front-End Software Engineer will perform as part of a high-performing team and contribute to the development and delivery of innovative software solutions in an agile software development environment interfacing with internal and external stakeholders; contributing to the design and development of next generation ground command and control capabilities. The Delphi program is seeking a software engineer to develop Mod & Sim-based test and training capabilities for Satellite Digital Twins and Space Battle Management Command, Control, and Communications (BMC3) programs. We seek a self-driven person who enjoys being on a high-performing team to support the future of wargaming, testing, training, exercises, and operational system performance and behavior.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including: Experienced or Senior Level Front-End Software Engineer.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. (Colorado Springs, CO)

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of HMI developers

  • Design and implement intuitive, high-performance HMI and visualization components for web-based command-and-control systems

  • Build and maintain front-end applications and APIs that integrate with backend services, simulations, and digital twin data sources

  • Collaborate with product owners, systems engineers, modelers, and cross-functional teams to translate operational needs into software features

  • Create prototypes and iterate quickly to validate concepts and improve user workflows

  • Participate in software design reviews, code reviews, integration testing, and continuous delivery

  • Author clear developer- and user-facing documentation and support deployment and operational testing

  • Represent Boeing professionally with internal and external stakeholders

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Ability to obtain a US Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship

  • 3 or more years of experience with HMI development skills and prototyping

  • 3 or more years of experience with modern development languages and frameworks such as, Java, JavaScript, ThreeJS, WebGL, SpringBoot, Flask, A, node.js, Python

  • 2 or more years of experience writing developer-facing and user-facing documentation

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Level 3: Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science and 5+ years of related work experience OR Bachelor's Degree and 9+ years of directly related work experience OR 13+ years of related, relevant experience

  • Level 4: Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science and 9+ years of related work experience OR Bachelor's Degree and 13+ years of directly related work experience OR 17+ years of related, relevant experience

  • Active U.S. Top Secret/SCI security clearance

  • 3 or more years of experience with agile software development

  • 3 or more years of experience with cloud infrastructure development

  • 3 or more years of experience with Cesium and CesiumJS
