THIS POSITION HAS AGE RESTRICTIONS: YOU MUST BE 18+ YEARS OF AGE TO WORK IN THE SPORTING GOODS DEPARTMENT.


We are currently seeking experienced Archery Specialists that have a passion for archery and can assist customers in finding the right bow and equipment for their needs. Although this position will primarily assist customers in the archery center, other areas include: camping, fishing, firearms, etc., all the outdoor sporting goods areas within the store. If you are an avid archer and have experience in a sales environment, we would love to hear from you.


Essential Functions/Duties:

  • Provide merchandise/product knowledge to customers and recommend alternative or accessory goods.
  • Advise and assist customers in ordering specialized merchandise as needed.
  • Demonstrate weapon safety, and oversee the use of the archery range, range maintenance and housekeeping.
  • General archery maintenance including: cutting arrows, tuning and restring bows.
  • Monitor and maintain the condition and safekeeping of merchandise.
  • Provide assistance in receiving, pricing and displaying merchandise in accordance with specific established policies, procedures and standards.
  • Answer telephones and handle routine customer telephone inquiries.
  • Prepare and participate with inventory cycle activities.
  • Other duties as assigned by management, related to customer service, merchandising and handling of products.


Requirements:


Required Skills/Experience: In-depth knowledge and experience in the use and maintenance of long/traditional, recurve, compound and crossbows. Prior experience as an archery instructor or coach preferred, not required. Prior experience as an archery technician preferred, not required. Sales and firearms experience preferred but not required. Proven work history in providing customer service. Ability to effectively communicate information, policies, and/or procedures in a manner easily understood by the customer. Rigorous attention to detail. Ability to calculate numbers, correct entries, and utilize computer system. Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information. Knowledge of ATF forms preferred, not required. Since this job involves selling weapons, qualified candidates MUST pass a criminal background check.


Required Education/Certification: Bowhunter Hunter Education Card, highly preferred. NFAA or NFAS instructor certification preferred, but not required. High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience preferred not required.


Other Requirements: Must be 18 years of age or older. Must be able to pass a thorough background check. D&B is open Mon-Sat 8am-8pm and Sun 9am-6pm. You must be willing to work any shift. Due to the nature of this position, you must be able to stand for long periods of time, climb, bend, stoop, kneel and lift up to 50 lbs (most product will be in the 10-25 lb range).
