Job description

Job Summary

Program participants spend 9 months in Women's Bean Project's transitional job-readiness training program. During this time, you will work as a Production Assistant in our dry-food manufacturing operation, gaining hands-on experience, building strong transferable skills, and developing the professional behaviors expected in today's entry-level workplaces.


In addition to on-the-job training, you will attend classes focused on computer skills, financial literacy, GED preparation, career coaching, resume writing, mock interviews, and coping skills. You will also meet weekly with a WBP case manager to set goals, address challenges outside of work, and stay supported throughout your journey.


Our program is designed for women who are ready to make a change, focus on their future, and grow with the support of a dedicated team. WBP is a space for growth, accountability, and real progress. This journey takes commitment and hard work, but you won't be doing it alone. Show up for yourself, and we'll meet you with structure, resources, and a community invested in your success.


Job Requirements

  1. Ability to demonstrate attention to details and follow directions.
  2. Ability to sit, stand, walk, squat, kneel, and lift for long periods of time throughout the day.
  3. Ability to tolerate repetitive motions of hands, wrists, and arms.
  4. Work with strong spices, orders, and allergen food products.
  5. Lift up to 50 lbs. and frequently move objects to/from production tables, racking systems, and pallets.
  6. Able to write in English and read recipes, instructions, SOP's and understand verbal directions.
  7. Ability to do physical labor and other physical tasks within established standards of speed and quality.
  8. Workers must be punctual and reliable.
